On 8 June 2026, Nikola Krejčířová, Czech coordinator of the Moving Forward project, participated in the JPND DELCAA Symposium held at the General University Hospital in Prague, Czech Republic. The event brought together leading researchers, clinicians, and representatives of Huntington’s disease organizations from across Europe and beyond to share the latest developments in Huntington’s disease research and care.

As part of the programme, Nikola presented the work of the Czech Huntington Association and highlighted the importance of patient and family engagement within the Huntington’s disease community.

She also introduced Moving Forward, an initiative of the European Huntington Association designed to support young people from families affected by Huntington’s disease through education, peer support, personal development, and international networking.

The symposium provided a valuable opportunity to showcase the impact of the Moving Forward project and to raise awareness of the unique challenges faced by young people growing up in HD families. It also created space for meaningful discussions between researchers, healthcare professionals, and patient advocates about the importance of including the patient perspective in both research and care.

Participation in scientific meetings such as the JPND DELCAA Symposium helps strengthen collaboration across the HD community and ensures that the voices of families affected by Huntington’s disease remain an important part of shaping the future of HD research, treatment, and support.
