Science and patient support go hand in hand: Poland has joined the Moving Forward project

After the successful implementation of the project in several European countries, Moving Forward is now expanding to Poland, in collaboration with the local HD community and the Polish Huntington’s Disease Association.

The Polish part of the project is coordinated by Marta Tomczyk, a scientist working on HD and a supporter of the HD patient community. Marta will help strengthen connections between patients, families, researchers, clinicians and the broader European HD community, while supporting activities tailored to the needs and concerns of younger people from HD families.

“HD affects entire families, not just individual patients. That is why reliable education, support in understanding research and clinical trials, and fact-based hope are so important. Moving Forward was created in response to the rapid progress in HD research and clinical trials in recent years. Sustained community engagement in research is essential, especially among people at risk and those in the pre-symptomatic stage. Projects like Moving Forward can help us build a stronger, better-informed community.”- Marta.

By combining science, education, and patient advocacy, the Moving Forward project in Poland aims to support more meaningful community involvement in research and help build a stronger future for HD families.
