We are happy to announce that Mats Mølstre has joined Julie Skarberg in coordinating the Moving Forward project in Norway. Mats brings deep personal experience and strong engagement in the Huntington’s disease community, continuing the important work of supporting young people and families affected by HD across the country.

“Hello, my name is Mats Merkesvik Mølstre (24 years old) and I am from Norway. I come from a family where my mother had Huntington’s disease, and I followed the progression of her illness until her death in 2022. I have been heavily involved in the Norwegian HD community for many years now, and have also been involved in Moving Forward’s work in Norway over the past year. I am also a board member of the Norwegian Huntington’s Disease Association.

I look forward to making a difference for all families affected by HD, hearing about their challenges and problems, and trying to make a difference for most of them. We have already done a good job in Norway in recent years with Moving Forward, but we will try to do even better in the future. As someone who has experienced illness at such a young age, I know very well how it feels for the families affected and how brutally it affects family dynamics.

I believe that this project will build a network that people will greatly benefit from, as many families have complex issues and needs. I am looking forward to starting my job as the project coordinator for Moving Forward in Norway.”
